How is PAYE calculated in Kenya?
PAYE (Pay As You Earn) is calculated using KRA's progressive tax bands. Your gross salary is taxed at 10% for the first KES 24,000, 25% from KES 24,001–32,333, and 30% above that. You then subtract a personal relief of KES 2,400 per month. SHIF (2.75%), NSSF, and the 1.5% Housing Levy are deducted separately.
How do I calculate car import duty in Kenya?
KRA uses the Current Retail Selling Price (CRSP) to determine the customs value. Depreciation (3% per year up to 24%) is applied, then Import Duty (25%), Excise Duty (20%), VAT (16%), IDF (3.5%), and RDL (1.5%) are applied to arrive at the total payable.
